Every project site is unique; in simple terms we need access for both the Panels and a crane. A broad rule of thumb is if a refuse vehicle or fire engine can get on to the site then we can make the delivery. There are exceptions of course, we always look at the logistics at early stages and we will be happy to check this out as part of our early discovery / viability stage when working with you.
All new homes built in the UK must be certified to last a minimum of 60 years, deemed to be two mortgage terms plus 10 years. All Agile Homes have this certification.
The short answer is yes. We work with Ecology Building Society on pre-packaged mortgage finance packages for clients.
We also have a variety of other finance options available and would be happy to work with you to look for the best approach to financing one of our homes.
Options range from traditional Highstreet lending through to asset finance.
Yes. We offer a community led housing and workspace service. We work closely with a community, to understand its needs and everyone’s requirements, and to assess what space is available. We liaise with landowners, such as local councils, to agree the best way of delivering homes or TAMs. We can then set up a ‘flying factory’, as close to the place where homes are needed, to assemble each one. We will utilise local labour and skills, but also provide opportunity for people to develop skills and experience. We can tap into the resources offered by the local community or supply labour for a project, as necessary..
This tried and tested approach ensures homes are locally manufactured, can respond rapidly to demand exactly where it is needed, are affordable and generate a range of socio-economic benefits to the community. It also means that homes can be delivered in locations, such as back gardens and under-used space, where other housebuilders will not go. Consequently, Tams can help provide new homes in parallel with more traditional solutions. Everybody wins.
Many factors affect the price of any home, regardless of the construction method. Generally, after full specification has been decided a fixed cost of the superstructure (all above ground) is calculated. One of the biggest benefits of a modular home is the fact this price is fixed and in the contract.
Cost certainty for the client is something not available with a traditional delivery of block and brick.
Agile Straw is tightly packed and enclosed within a structural timber frame, i-joists, sheathing board on the inside surface of the panel and breather board on the outside surface of the panel. This forms a fully enclosed panel with no straw visible. Fire needs a ready supply of oxygen to burn and without it, no combustion will occur. The panels provide a near airless environment, so fire resistance is very good. All Agile panels offer 60+ minutes of protection. Final visible internal and external surfaces will increase these levels though the fire resistance levels they offer.
Agile, on occasions can offer a panel only solution for clients, however we would prefer to work with you on the full design and build project.
Where a company / individual has already obtained planning permission we can discuss with you about “Agilising” the design and re-applying or making a submission for changes to the planning permission. This may add to the lead time of planning, but we make up for the time lost in the delivery stage of our builds.
Agile design what we know we can build – making building regs, planning and construction a far smoother process than engaging with multiple organisations.
This means that with a fair wind, overall we will in fact save time on your project even when accounting for re-application of planning permissions.
We can build from one unit up and will look at any project. Economies of scale will play a part on all pricing.
Agile believe in a circular economy and where possible we try to ensure that we use natural and bio-based materials. Non-toxic, eco-friendly renewable materials.
The prefabricated panels used in our builds are checked and approved by BOPAS. Our panels are entirely manufactured and assembled under controlled conditions. The quality of each panel is assured and signed off at various stages during manufacture. Panels are delivered to site as fully closed modular panels. Moisture content levels are constantly monitored throughout the manufacturing and delivery process. Our homes exceed current building insulation regulations (0.15 W/m²K – 0.18 W/m²K). This ensures that our homes will keep you snug and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Our Panels can deliver an airtight construction to PassivHaus specifications if required. As a result, buildings using our technological approach help deliver zero heat requirements, saving money and CO2emissions. . In addition, we create a breathable building – no condensation – no harmful moulds or bacteria thanks to the materials used in construction. Our homes meet the future homes 2025 standard while the panels insulation build also cuts noise levels, making your living environment even better.
