Housing
Tam is Agile’ innovation in the housing market.
Tam is a unique, prefabricated, rapid-response housing solution that enables the delivery of high quality, low-carbon affordable modular homes in new and innovative ways. All our homes are made of super-insulated straw and timber panels, made off-site then transported and assembled on-site to make a home. The walls, floors and roof can take as little as a day to erect and can be ready to occupy in just 6 weeks.
Flat Pack
Our flat-pack panels means that we can build homes in exciting and unusual locations, unlocking value and delivering much needed new homes – quickly. Like traditional housing, a Tam also has a minimum 60 year Design Life and meets Nationally Described Space Standards, all Building Regulations and the Future Homes 2025 Standard.
A tam lifts people back on to the Property Ladder by rebuilding its missing rungs.
High Quality & Low Carbon
Tam combines low-carbon and naturally renewable materials with exceptional design quality to create an affordable and high-performance home, without compromise. Tam is an innovative building system that uses the latest in Modern Methods of Construction and prefabrication techniques.
Tam is super insulated; triple glazed and uses all LED lighting to reduce energy use and CO2 emissions to a minimum. Built using natural and renewable materials, straw and timber, a one bedroom Tam actually banks 27 tonnes of CO2 into its fabric. This makes Tam one of the lowest carbon footprint homes available.
Affordable & Agile
Tam is not only a lower cost home option, that can be mortgaged, it also opens up alternative forms of ownership. Tam can also be Lease Financed, meaning that people can either Lease Hire or Lease Purchase their home, as easily and flexibly as leasing a car.
Tam is moveable and lightweight, which means it can be deployed in a variety of new settings. Whether that be on microsites, that would not normally be available to build homes on; or on rooftops, creating value where none existed before; or simply raised off the ground on stilts.
Variety of Formats
Tam meets all accessibility and housing space standards. Layouts range from 1 to 4 bedroom homes. We also do larger two storey homes as well as smaller compact living homes.
Tams complies with the Caravan Act and Chattel Law, meaning that there’s no need for planning permission in some circumstances.
Moveable
Because Tam complies with the Caravan Act we can move them to new locations. This means they can be asset financed, much like lease finance for a car. It also means we can develop meanwhile uses on land to meet demand while longer term development solutions are worked through and delivered. It also means Tam can be used to enable innovative retrofit solutions by providing hyper-local decant recant solutions reducing impact on residents but delivering better retrofit solutions.
Tam is truly Agile!
Apartments
Our in-house team of Architects and engineers mean we do not lock our clients into pre-packaged design solutions, like many other MMC providers have to. Instead, our build systems free-up design options to meet client and resident needs directly. We can design apartment solutions to meets all accessible and inclusion needs, whether for individual students, people with supported care needs or families grouping to any size and space standard.
Traditional
Agile Build Systems can be used for 1, 2 and 3 storey family housing. While these are not moveable in the same way that Tam is, our innovation does not stop. Even on 3storey developments, Agile does not pour concrete foundations. Concrete in the built environment is responsible for 9% of global emissions. By replacing trench foundations with Ground Screws or Pads, we reduce emission significantly. Other benefits include being able to work, in around and underneath mature trees. Trench foundations cut through tree roots; ground screws simply push them aside.
